Welcome to my new blog!
As my byline states, my intention is that this blog is about photography, life, and a few other things. I plan to share my photography, and my other interests.
While I'm not too superstitious, whenever I do something for the first time I try to at least put my best foot forward. So in this inaugural post, I'd like to share one of my favorite images I have taken in the past few years.
This image was taken in Washington state, in the summer of 2007. It was in a stream called Sol Duc, which is pretty famous for a waterfall. My son Nick and I hiked to the waterfall, but couldn't really come up with anything original. So we began hiking up the stream, and came across this rock and several other interesting scenes. The movement is accomplished with a slow shutter speed (1/8th of a second). The colors are the reflection of all the different trees and sky.
Again welcome, and there will be much more to come!
Bob Towery.
