Walking around my yard friday night, I noticed these daylillies calling out to be photographed. So saturday morning I began stalking with my trusty macro lens. The flowers really are in perfect shape. I particularly like these stems (these are stamens, right?), they are so perfect and the curves are very sensuous.

I'm really fascinated by these super closeups. After I capture the first image, i tried to get a bit more creative. What would Tony Sweet do? So I thought I would accentuate the curves, but also have the stamen out of frame on top and bottom. I know most people probably prefer the first one, it is more traditional. I'm fond of this second one though, a bit more thought went into it.
