So what do we have here - an image from yesterday? But what does yesterday mean, in this context. Yesterday as in 50 years ago? No, it actually means yesterday. I went to a benefit car show in Auburn, CA on Saturday. Mostly when I shoot at car shows, I get "parts of cars," I suppose both because I like them and because this is how I can isolate the other people out.
But yesterday I was determined to get some entire cars, or larger parts of cars anyway. And I also thought that I wouldn't mind getting car owners or other people in the shot if it made sense. So I was ready when I saw this owner get in his car, and then begin polishing the windshield.
When I got home and applied this vintage treatment to the color shot, I was pleased to see that this image could certainly travel through time. With the other car, and the way the woman is dressed, I could easily see this being from the 1940's or so.
One person I showed this to said "oh, too bad that guy is in there!" But my thinking is that he really makes the picture. Without him, it's just another car. I like him and his expression, fortunately he's looking timeless himself.
I have some other pictures I like from this shoot, time travelers. But I think I'll wait and see what kind of reaction this one gets before posting them. Comment below to let me know what YOU think of this image (and thanks!).
