As they used to say in the good old Monty Python series: "and now for something completely different!" At the Western Railroad Museum that my son and I went to a few weeks ago, they have a large "car barn." It's just really hard to shoot in there. So I was getting detail shots, things like that. They only have a couple of engines, this being one.
There isn't any way to get a nice full on picture or anything. But I was kind of captivated by the wheels on this one, the rod that connects them. So I snapped this one picture. [Side note - ridiculously sharp for one sixth of a second!] The perspective of my new 14mm is really interesting.
So looking at it on the computer, I was trying to decide if it was worth working on. I applied a Lightroom preset called "mocha" which gave it this color treatment. This treatment also turned the area to the right of the track white. That's when I got the "dreamland" idea. In Photoshop I turned all the area to the right of the train bright white. Then I blurred the front of the train a bit.
On those nights when I have a hard time going to sleep, I could imagine climbing on board the Dreamland Express. Next stop: no one knows. Just a steady chug-chug and gentle rocking motion. I .. think... I'm a falling.. asleep .. bye.
