This shot was taken about five years ago in Washington DC. I'm pretty sure this is at Arlington. As I have said before, I'm a big fan of marble and granite, I just love columns. With this shot, and the treatment, I was trying to really bring to light the detail that the architect and craftsmen put together here. The columns are fairly ordinary. But look at the arches. And the walls that hold them up. What incredible lines.
I wish my on-site camera placement had been perfectly symmetrical. I wish that now, but I probably just didn't get it when I was there. I'll know better next time. The people that designed and built this were so talented.
