On the Edge of Color
Canon 1D Mark III, 180mm F3.5 Macro, f3.5, 1/640, iso 250
Since people seemed to like my recent "edge shots" I decided to give it another go. With a yard full of Acer Palmatums (i.e. Japanese Maples, hey whattya know, even I know a couple real plant names) and nice early light, this is a relatively easy assignment.
Once again, owning this macro lens is a real treat. This shot isn't even a crop! All I really did to it was take down the brightness with curves. When I was shooting, I looked for perfect leaves, and then interesting, but not distracting, backgrounds. The maximum aperture of this lens is f3.5 and you can see the DOF is quite nice.
This is the normal color for this tree, this time of year, but it makes me realize that Fall Color isn't too far away. I have big plans for Fall Color this year, I hope they work out!
