With today's post, I'll bring this series to a close. I have enjoyed your comments on these images, they are special to me. Like I said in the first post, I had planned to do a lot of street photography during my week there, but due to being sick was only able to get out twice, really for a pretty short time. For using a new camera system, I'm quite pleased with the results I attained.
And you know I'd save my favorite for last, right? This one isn't my favorite from a compositional POV, or classic street photography POV. But there's something about her face that really draws me in.
In many of the children's faces, there is no hint of angst regarding Mexico or the world at large. It appears that many of these kids will grow up right in the same town, and maybe live their whole lives working in the little store handed down through their family, and never venture far from home.
With this girl I sense something more. In the beautiful, natural window light, I see her searching and perhaps wondering. Wondering what the world has in store for her. She can see beyond this tiny classroom in this poor village. I wish her good luck in her journey.
As always, thanks for your visits and especially your comments on the images you enjoy.
