Walking along in North Beach I encountered something I had never seen before. A guy was using tape and markers, putting sayings and poetry down on the sidewalk. I asked him if he minded me photographing it and he said "please." This guy turned out to be quite talkative. "I'm in advertisting and marketing" he said.
So today we are going to do something different. A series within a series. On the Continue link you'll find two more images. It's November 1st. So I'm treating you to a couple more.
Talking with him and thinking quickly at the same time about what I wanted to get out of this photographically, I decided I somehow I wanted to capture him and his art. This was attempt #1. I wasn't thrilled.
And then I came up with this one. As I held the camera over my head, he naturally looked up at it. But I asked him to lower his head and I shot a couple more. I liked this one a great deal, with all his art showing, and his art supply sack in the background.
