In NYC, you are often reminded of the over the top scale of the place. For example, here we have "the post office." Let me ask you... where you live, what does the post office look like? Probably nothing like this.
I included the patron in this shot for scale. I walked through this building. The public space is not huge, nor ornate. So the "back office" area must really be something, given that the building takes up like an entire city block!
