We didn't just take pictures while in San Miguel, we ate too! And well, quite often. A few times we wished we had chosen a different place. This was one of the most memorable meals, outside on a terrace overlooking Guanajuato. Great company, great food. Great memories.

This year's crop in our own little vineyard at home was picked yesterday. If you are reading this Sunday morning, I'm already over at my buddy Steve's working on our new batch of wine. Last year I didn't really attempt to produce a crop and got only about 160 lbs of grapes. This year, my wife and I gave them some TLC, and what the heck, we produced about 800 lbs!
This will be my last picture of them, but hopefully we'll have some great wine a couple of years down the road. Thanks for the help with the vines, Deb. Cheers!
You will recall that I have a small vineyard on my property and last fall made wine for the first time with some friends (if you are new to the blog, use the Search box on the right and enter "wine").
This year my wife and I trimmed up the grapes nicely, fertilized like we are supposed to, watched the watering, but other than that let them do their own thing. And are they doing it!
About half my grape plants are just loaded! Some newer plants (replacements) aren't getting with the program yet, next year I suppose. Going to be a good year for Towery Vineyard I predict!
Short and sweet today, I'm sure everyone is busy. I'm going out on a limb to say I think 2010 is going to be a much better year overall than 2009. You can only keep people down so long, people want to thrive. Maybe it's too soon yet. I'm not sure, but I know I'm an optimist.
So I say "cheers!" Let's do it. We can make it a great year. Feel free to record your New Year's wish with a comment below.

California's Napa Valley is a world famous destination, and for most of my life I have lived within an hour of it. In fact, the wife and I were married there, 20 years ago this year.
Speaking of which, the wife and I have a goal of getting together with friends and family a little more often, hopefully to share a meal together. We have been trying to put lunch together with her brother and wife for about 6 weeks, luckily we pulled it off.
