Each Memorial Day I thank the active and veteran members of the armed forces. Having just toured this very submarine, USN Seawolf, I am even more impressed and appreciative. An amazing group of smart and dedicated sailors, who take their job so seriously it sort of boggles the mind.
As they should considering the power of their weaponry. But let me tell you, you have to be a special person to spend months at a time in this big steel tube underwater.
Thank you again to all our men and women in uniform.
Like I have said before, I'm fortunate to live with these magnificent birds. I shot this from my driveway! Kind of unusual to see one soaking wet. My neighbor told me this one and another were messing around low over the water and it went in the drink.
I wasn't planning on posting "another" Rainier picture, but I got so much good feedback on this shot from friends and colleagues I decided to. This was yesterday morning, and all day she was extremely photogenic.
Today starts our Christmas visitors, and so of course a big Winter storm blew in. No more views of the mountain for now!
