Canon 5D Mark II, 15mm F/2.8 Fisheye, f/4.5, 1/25, iso 400
Today we have another image of the Tillamook Air Museum, this time without any planes in it. I really enjoyed this building, its history, engineering and construction. I have been to quite a few "world's largest/tallest/first" things in my life, but I did not have the world's largest wooden structure on my radar.
I was fascinated with these immense doors, and the opening they create. I think the perspective is like being an ant, standing there looking up at your front door. "Ernie, get them doors open, I'm bringing in Blimp 57!" Think of it!
So for this shot I was trying to capture both the wonderful structure, and the doors and the opening. Between the fisheye lens, and the full frame 5D Mark II, it can be done. The lines and angles here remind me of the compositions Thomas Hawk often employs.
The original image however did not convey the structure the way I wanted, so I used a Lightroom Preset called "Street Life - Vintage On" to give me the look I had in my head. Click on through with the continue link below to see the original, and leave a comment if you wish.
