Yes, you read that right, I took this pic with my phone! I know, I know, there are those you are going to give me crap because I diss phoneography. Oh well, it is what I had on me!

This image was taken during a meeting of one of the photography clubs I belong to. I was actually running the laptop, it was a critique night. Fortunately I was by the window and saw this amazing sunset happening. While the critiquers were talking, I would take a few steps over and snap pictures. Pretty nice view, eh? This is the Eastern edge of the Olympic National Forest.

Fun Friday - Someone Caught Me Shooting

Have I ever put up a picture of me shooting here? I don't think so. Well, I just finished a workshop with old friends Ashwin Rao and Steve Huff, and now we have a bunch of great new friends as well. The workshop was in the Palouse (Eastern Washington).

As we were driving one of a million gravel roads, Ashwin saw this spot and we got out to do some interesting angles. Didn't realize Steve caught me! Pretty spot, isn't it? If you have the interest, there are a bunch more images from our workshop here and here.

I know my street photography doesn't get a lot of play here on the blog, but it is one of my photographic passions. Walking through Pikes Place, I saw this scene and quickly shot it. Reviewing the image, I feel like this scene could have occurred in any of thousands of small towns across our great country. Just so happens this one was right here in Seattle. But I'll bet you this lovely couple isn't from here.

Topaz Tuesday - Architectural Abstract

Another interesting scene I saw while walking the streets of NYC. After seeing this on my monitor, I felt it would make a good B&W, so into Topaz B&W Effects we go!

Just a few simple adjustments with the sliders and I had the kind of edgy B&W I am looking for. I think the B&W version draws me into the image more than the color version. See for yourself, the original is on the Continue link.

Thanks to my good friend Dan Sniffin, I have an entirely new take on the Experience Music Project building in Seattle. Polarizer! The colors this building generates is nothing short of amazing.
