How to spend a birthday

I had a fabulous birthday, actually two of them! On the 19th in NZ and on the 19th in the USA (since most of my friends are there). I took this shot from a boat out in Milford Sound. 

And although I'm in an uplifted and fantastic mood, the moodiness of this shot is speaking to me, so that's my post for today.

She walks

She walks, her thoughts to herself and the wind on the lake. Time stops. Just the cool blue water... and the cool breeze. She knows now. 

Birds of New Zealand

New Zealanders are all about their birds. I mean their nickname is "Kiwi," after the most popular bird. But there is also the Koa and many others.

Today I make my contribution - the New Zealand Surf Bird.

Sydney's Anzac Bridge

I wanted to walk across this bridge, but couldn't figure out how to get on it! Luckily I was able to drive across with a friend. Not bad from inside the windshield, eh?

Before making this trip a friend pointed me to the website of a New Zealand photographer. I wanted to check out her NZ images. But she also had some excellent street work she had done in Sydney. And I thought "oh yes, I'm also going to a great city! Perhaps some street photography?" 

Turns out Sydney is quite a good place for street work!
