I was very taken with this home when I first saw it in the tiny hamlet of Perledo. Like virtually every town in Italy, there is a church, and this home is literally in the square in front of the church.
It spoke to me more than virtually any other structure I had seen on my trip, and that is a lot of structures! I wanted to come back when there was some nice afternoon light and blue sky over the lake. Alas, that was not to be, as we had overcast and light rain most of the time.
But I went back anyway, of course. There was a big crane behind the home, I hadn't noticed the first time. It was putting up an apartment building. Ah... progress? That limited the angles I could utilize.
I was by myself, but found myself thinking of some of my shooting buddies. What would Dan, or John, or Tony do here? Doors and windows were open, I really didn't want to disturb the occupants. As usual, I worked quickly.
This particular composition is my favorite, and I gave it a treatment that I feel harkens to the timeless quality of the scene. I'd like to think I did my buddies proud with this image.
